Executive Director of Asia-Pacific Region of Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) Dr. Somporn Kumphong visited Japan on April 15 to discuss GHA COVID-19 guidelines for medical travel programs with Chair of International Healthcare Services of Southern TOHOKU Hospital Group (STHG) Prof. Yujiro Handa in the Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, Autograph Collection.

The purpose of the guidelines is to assist medical travel programs during or post COVID-19. In addition, GHA launched new accreditation program for hotels serving medical and wellness travel guests to fight infectious diseases (such as COVID-19). Prof. Handa will bring this accreditation forward in an internal meeting to explore in depth the feasibility.
