The 2nd NRW-Fukushima Joint Symposium on Advances in Medicine
Southern TOHOKU Hospital Group (STHG) and University Hospital Essen (UHE) joint held “The 2nd NRW-Fukushima Joint Symposium on Advances in Medicine” under the auspices of the German State North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and Fukushima Prefecture of Japan at Southern TOHOKU General Hospital on Saturday, December 2, 2017.

This year’s symposium features topics: artificial intelligence in medicine and the hospital of the future, health management of the future, the next generation of particle beam therapies, minimal invasive surgery by means of endoscopes and robot, innovative technologies from bio-medical engineering, and international collaboration in patient treatment.

This joint symposium is being held to provide an opportunity to strategize the cooperation in innovative medicine and sophisticated infrastructure sharing among governments and hospitals in Germany, Japan and Asia.

Participants can learn about Fukushima’s present condition, progress and upcoming initiatives towards revitalization and further support the cooperation between North Rhine-Westphalia and Fukushima.
