RSA UGM & STHG sign MOU and hold joint seminar
On May 14 2018, the first joint seminar was held between Gadjah Mada University Academic University (RSA UGM) and Southern TOHOKU Hospital Group (STHG) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. 

 

On the topic of “The Role of Interventional Radiology and a Proton Beam Therapy in Current Cancer Management," speakers from two hospitals explored the role of radiology for cancer, future of proton beam effects and the world’s first accelerator-based BNCT facility at Southern Tohoku General Hospital. 

 

This seminar was attended by nearly 50 individuals from hospitals and government agencies. A highlight of the seminar was the MOU signing between RSA UGM and STHG. Superintendent of RSA UGM Prof. Arif Faisal expressed his appreciation to STHG delegation to come to Yogyakarta. He was pleased that both sides had such an informative and open discussion to share knowledge and expertise. This collaboration will result in innovative solutions for cancer treatment in Indonesia. 

 

Superintendent of Southern TOHOKU General Hospital Dr. Yasushi Teranishi said he looked forward to strengthen the momentum and achievements of common goals in the perspective of joint seminar, exchange of medical personnel, clinical research and hospital management training.
